EDINBURG, June 10.—Samuel W. Coy, known to all his friends as “Wash,” Coy, 69 years old, passed away Friday evening at 7 o’clock at his home southwest of Edinburg fol­lowing an illness of five years and that had been serious the past ten days.

Mr. Coy was born in Indiana, January 7, 1864, the son of Samuel and Martha Anderson Coy. He was married April 15, 1886, to Emma Barnhill and to them five children were born. One daughter died in infancy. Surviving him are the widow, two sons, Ralph and Aubrey Coy, of Edinburg rural route; a daughter, Miss Reba Coy, and one son, Dallas, both at home. Three brothers, John W. Coy, E. R. Coy and Allie Coy and three sisters, Mrs. William Milnes, Mrs. Howard Edwards and Mrs. James Coffman, also survive.

Mr. Coy was a member of the New Bethel Christian church and the Nineveh K. of P. lodge. Funeral services will be con­ducted Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at the Kansas M. E. church. Rev. J. A. Sumwalt will have charge of the funeral services. Burial will be made in Rest Haven cemetery.

SAMUEL W. COY PASSES AWAY

Funeral services to be conducted
from Kansas Church Sunday

Edinburg, June 10 — Samuel Washington Coy, 69, well known and successful farmer, died at his home west of town at 7 o’clock last night, following a long illness. Funeral services will be conducted from the Kansas Methodist Church to­morrow afternoon in charge of the Rev. J. A. Sumwalt.

He was born Jan. 7, 1864, in the Kansas community, and spent his entire life there. He was a son of Samuel and Martha Coy, and was married to Emma Elizabeth Barnhill April 15, 1886. He was a member of the New Bethel Chris­tian Church and the K. of P. Lodge at Nineveh.

Four children and the widow survive and are Ralph, Aubrey and Dallas Coy, all living in the Kansas community, and Miss Reba Coy, at home. Three brothers and three sisters, John Wesley, Richard, and Elijah Coy, Mrs. Mary Coffman and Mrs. Kate Milnes, all of Edinburg, and Mrs. Della Edwards, of Rushville, and four grandchildren also survive.
