Ruth Marie Coy

Ruth Marie Coy, 77, formerly of Whiteland, died Saturday at Franklin United Methodist Home Healthcare Center, where she had been a patient 10 days. She had been in failing health since 1982.

Born Sept. 28, 1906, in Bar­tholomew County, she was the daugh­ter of William N. and Dora May (Kennedy) Johnson. She married Dallas Coy May 2, 1928. He survives.

Mrs. Coy graduated from Edinburgh High School and attended Indiana State Normal at Terre Haute. She was a member of Honey Creek United Methodist Church and its Co-Workers Class and Nineveh Order of Easter Star 466.

A service will be at 2 p.m. Wed­nesday at Vandivier-Tudor Fun­eral Home, Franklin, with the Revs. Wilma Allen and James Trulove of­ficiating. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery, Edinburgh.

Contributions may be made to Honey Creek United Methodist Church Mem­orial Fund.

Surviving along with her husband, are a sister, Dorothy Renner, Indian­apolis; two brothers, Bryan K. Johnson, Indianapolis, and Paul L. Johnson, Columbus; three nephews, and two nieces.

FRANKLIN — Ruth Marie Coy, 77, formerly of Whiteland, died Saturday at the United Methodist Home at Franklin.

She was the sister of Paul L. Johnson of Columbus.

Funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. Wilma Allen and the Rev. James Truelove at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Vandivier-Tudor Funeral Home in Franklin where calling hours will be after 2 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Memorials may be made to the memorial fund at Honey Creek United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Coy was born Sept. 28, 1906, in Bartholomew County, the daughter of William N. and Dora May Kennedy Johnson. She was married to Dallas Coy May 2, 1928, and he survives. She was a graduate of Edinburgh High School and attended Indiana State Normal College. She formerly taught school in Bartholomew County about two years and she was a member of Honey Creek United Methodist Church and Co-Workers Sunday school class.

Surviving besides her husband and brother are another brother, Bryan K. Johnson of Indianapolis; one sister, Dorothy Renner of Indianapolis; three nephews and two nieces.
