EDINBURG — Maud Violet Coy died in the Bartholomew County Hospital at 9:45 a.m., Friday, following an extended illness.
The Rev. Ray Bozell will conduct funeral rites in the Edinburg Methodist church at 2 p.m., Monday, with burial following in Rest Haven cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are after 2 p.m., Sunday, and the body will be taken to the church at 1 p.m., Monday.
Surviving are three daughters, Freda Bills of Edinburg, Hazel Brown of Scipio, and Alvina Richards of Nashville; four sons, Norman and Cecil Coy of Edinburg, Raymond Coy of Indianapolis, and Sylvester Coy, U.S. Navy; two sisters, Bertha E. Waltz of Edinburg, and Zora Grimes of Columbus; 41 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Mrs. Coy was born in Brown county, April 3, 1885, the daughter of James B. and Mary King. She was married in early life to James M. Coy, who died in 1934.
