ESTAL COY, JOHNNY KOHR 
DIE IN CAR-TRUCK CRASH
      Estal Ray Coy, 56, of Albany, Ky., 
former Edinburg resident, and his nine 
year old step-son, Johnny Kohr, were 
killed instantly last Monday, June 30 
in a truck-car accident on Interstate 
40at Harriman, Tenn., out of Knoxville 
when a car traveling in the wrong lane 
hit the truck head-on.
      The two were trapped inside the 
 cab. The truck was destroyed by fire 
 after the crash.
      Mrs. Flossie Cook, 500 South 
Holland Street, is the mother-in-law 
of Mr. Coy and grandmother of the 
young boy.
      Mr. Coy and Johnny were hauling 
produce from Tennessee to Albany, Ky., 
when the accident occurred.
      Joint funeral servcies were held 
last Wednesday in Albany, Ky., and 
burial made at Peolia Cemetery at 
Albany.
      Coy was born March 3, 1919, in 
Brown County, the son of Wilbur and 
Flossie Wray Coy who lived on south 
Pleasant street in Edinburg.  He was 
a graduate of Edinburg High School, 
owned and operated a grocery store in 
Edinburg several years ago and recently 
owned and operated a Laundromat on 
south Main Street in Edinburgh.  He was 
married to Billie Alice Sheckles Kohr 
and the family moved from Edinburgh 
five years ago.
      Surviving are the wife; four 
daughters, Paula Coy, at home, Linda Coy, 
Aspen, Colo., Patricia Coy, Cincinnati, 
and Marilyn Coy of Franklin; a son, 
Michael Coy of Nashville; a step-son, 
Greg Kohr; two step-daughters, Linda 
and Deborah.
      Also three brothers, Virgil Coy 
of Hope; Kenneth Coy, Whiteland, Orville 
Coy of Trafalgar; and two sisters, 
Pauline Burtis of Columbus and Ardith 
Stallsworth of Illinois.
      Johnny Kohr was nine years old, 
the son of Billie Coy and Earl Kohr, 
born March 11, 1966 in Albany, Ky.
