OBITUARY.
––––
DIED.—At the home of her parents near Edinburg, Feb 11th, Mrs. Lida Cox, of Amity. The subject of this obituary was the young bride of Mr. John Cox of Amity, who led her to the altar less than two months ago with bright anticipations of a long and happy life before them: but the grim monster, death, has taken the light of that happy home and left many aching hearts. Mrs. Cox nee Miss Lida Chambers, was a general favorite in her large circle of friends because of her sterling qualities and the beauty of her outward life. Mr. Cox won and wooed this noble girl and they were married on Dec. 23rd at the age of 21 years. But the wedding garments soon became the shroud and Lida has gone to rest. Let her heart broken husband look up beyond the mists that hang over the river of death and the clouds have a silver lining, for if he will be led by the dear Redeemers hand, he will again see his beloved on the gold paved streets of the New Jerusalem. Her funeral was preached in the Amity church, by the Rev. Isaac Sawin, and the tenement of clay was lain away to rest in the silent city of the dead, mourned by a large concourse of sympathizing friends and relatives.
