Mrs. Mary Combs aged 66 years died Thursday of last week at the home of her son, W. E. Combs. Burial occurred at Hopewell, Saturday about noon. She has been an invalid for years. The funeral occurred at 9 o’clock at the home of W. E. Combs. It is rumored that Mrs. Mary Combs’ death was caused by a mistake she made in taking medicine, dying in about an hour after the error. She was taking two kinds of medicine, one dose was a teaspoonful, the other three drops of tincture of digitalis. She thought it time to take a dose of the teaspoonful and not getting the right medicine took a teaspoonful of the poisonous drug.
