Mrs. A. B. Colton continues critically ill. She had shown improvement the first of the week, it seeming that the physicians had her heart trouble under control. But pneumonia set in Tuesday evening and the complications arising make her recovery almost hopeless.

DEATH OF MRS. A. B. COLTON.
Mrs. Mary A. L. Colton, wife of A. B. Colton, died at her home in this city, Friday evening, July 13, after an illness of two weeks from organic heart trouble and pneumonia.
Deceased was born in Fayette County, Indiana, February 25, 1830, and spent the early years of her life with her parents in this state. After her marriage to Mr. Colton they resided in Georgia until the breaking out of the war in 1861, when they removed to Indiana, locating in Franklin in 1864. Shortly after her residence here she united with the Baptist church, and has proved one of its most faithful and earnest workers. Her entire life has been one of self-sacrifice. For fourteen years she conducted religious services at the jail, and for five years had not missed teaching a Sabbath morning class in the scriptures at the Mission chapel. For many years she had been an active worker in the W. C. T. U. in its various departments and for two years was the society’s successful fair superintendent.
Funeral services were held Sunday evening at 5 o’clock, from her late home, conducted by Dr. Wallace St. John, assisted by Dr. L. P. Marshall and Rev. C. H. Hall. Burial at Greenlawn.

Dolbeare Colton died at about 5 o’clock p. m. on 13 Jul 1900 in Franklin from pneumonia of three days’ duration, disease causing death chronic endocarditis, contributory cause nephritis, aged seventy years, seven months and eighteen days. She was female, white, married and a housewife, born in Indiana. Her father’s name was George Dolbeare, birthplace Connecticut, and her mother’s maiden name Susan Orr, born in North Carolina. The informant was A. B. Colton. Mary was buried in Greenlawn Cemetery on 15 Jul 1900, E. G. Barnhizer, undertaker.
