Mrs. C. J. Cochran died Wednesday a few minutes before noon at her home on north Main Street. She was in her eighty first year and had for a long time been in failing health. For nearly forty years she had been a resident of Franklin. She had been twice married. Her maiden name was Riley, her parents residing at the time of her birth in Perry County, this state. Deceased was of a kind, charitable disposition and greatly beloved by all her acquaintances. Funeral services will take place from the residence this morning at 10 o’clock, conducted by Rev. L. P. Marshall, assisted by Rev. T. N. Todd.

Note: Indiana, Death Certificates, 1899–2011, Health Officer’s Record Number 57, page 47,records that Catherine Jamison Cochran died from exhaustion caused by mild diarrhea and old age, at 11:00 a. m. on 20 Dec 1899 in Franklin, Franklin Township, Johnson County, Indiana, aged eighty years, two months and twenty-one days. She was female, white, widowed and a seamstress. Her father’s name was James Reily [sic] and her mother’s maiden name Catherine Jamison. Both parents were born in the United States. She was buried in Franklin on 22 Dec 1899, undertaker E. G. Barnhizer.
