ELVA GERTRUDE COBB
After being ill since January, Mrs. Elva Gertrude Cobb, of Nineveh, widow of the late Arthur J. Cobb, died in the Johnson County Memorial Hospital at 5:23 o’clock Thursday morning. She had been hospitalized for six weeks.
Funeral services have been tentatively set for Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the Nineveh Christian Church. Burial is to be made in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home Friday from 3 until 5 o’clock in the afternoon, that night from 7 to 9 o’clock and until time for the services. They are invited to attend the rites.
Mrs. Cobb was born at Nineveh on Sept. 1, 1903, and her parents were the late James and Clara Kelly Goetz. She attended the Nineveh School, graduating from the high school there in 1921.
Married twice, her first husband was James R. Forsyth, and at Nineveh in April 1934, she was married to Mr. Cobb and two children were born to them. Mr. Cobb died in 1960.
A life resident of Nineveh, Mrs. Cobb was a retired custodian of the Nineveh School and a member of the Nineveh Christian Church.
A son, John T. Cobb; a daughter, Mrs. Laura A. Hash, both of Nineveh; and seven grandchildren are the survivors.
