Mrs. Sarah Clark died at her home in north Franklin last week, aged sixty-eight years. She was highly respected and one of the charter members of the Christian church of this city. She leaves three children, Chas. Clark, Alva Clark and Mrs. E. N. Woollen, all of this city. The funeral took place from the residence on Friday.

The 1860 US Federal Census for Franklin, Johnson County, Indiana records forty-seven-year-old, Virginia-born blacksmith Barnett Clark, his forty-one-year-old, Kentucky-born wife Sarah A Clark and their children, twenty-one-year-old, Kentucky-born William, nineteen-year-old, Kentucky-born Margaret, seventeen-year-old, Kentucky-born Ellen [Mrs. E. N. Woollen], fifteen-year-old, Kentucky-born Charles, thirteen-year-old, Kentucky-born Nancy, nine-year-old, Indiana-born George F, seven-year-old, Indiana-born Sarah E, and six-month old Alva H Clark.
