OBITUARY.
Richard Church, Esquire, was born in North Carolina in 1817, and died in Johnson county, Ind., Aug 23, 1895, aged 77 years, 9 months and 10 days. His death was caused by cancer of the face. Funeral services were held at Salem M. E. church by Revs. Meade and Urner. His remains were followed to the grave by a large procession of relatives and neighbors. Mr. Church had been a faithful member of the M.E. church for thirty-two years. He held the office of Justice of the peace in this state and North Carolina for nearly thirty years and also acted as postmaster in both states ten years or more. He was an honest, conscientious man and respected by all who knew him. He leaves a widow and six children together with many other relatives and friends to mourn his demise.
