OBITUARY.
Mrs. Malinda Caswell, wife of Lewis Caswell, and daughter of James M. Shipp, died June 18, 1890, aged thirty years. The peculiar trying circumstances through which she was called to pass and the patient tender and loving disposition shown in her sickness and suffering, together with the peaceful, happy and assuring confidence with which she laid down her earthly life, renders the memory of Mrs. Caswell a boon and joy to her family and those who knew her.
Early in life she endured a severe attack of pneumonia fever which left her in a weakened condition. Later she sustained a fall which finally resulted in the amputation of a limb. The ether administered for this operation seemed to have affected her already weak lungs, but by judicious treatment and careful nursing she was thought to be improving until the ‘all pervading’ la grippe attacked her, completing her physical wreck. In her last moments she rejoiced that her suffering would soon be over; that she was going home.
The funeral took place at Second Mt. Pleasant church, conducted by Elder John Reese assisted by Rev. P. O. Duncan.
The husband and father of Mrs. Caswell offer their kindest thanks to their friends at Rocklane and vicinity for the aid and sympathy given in time of their affliction.
