Oscar Carvin, son of John A. Carvin at Edinburg, died suddenly of heart trouble, Monday at Indianapolis. He was employed in Wasson’s dry goods store. The remains were taken to Edinburg for burial.
Note: Indiana, Death Certificates, 1899–2011, Indianapolis, Marion County, Certificate and Record of Death, page 54 records that Ira E. Dunlevy, Deputy Coroner viewed the body and determined that Oscar O. Carvin died on 14 May 1900 in Indianapolis, Indiana from cerebral hemorrhage, contributory cause alcoholism, aged thirty years. He was male, white, single and a clerk, born in Edinburg, Indiana. His father’s name was John Carvin and his mother’s maiden name unknown [Sarah Jarrell], their birthplace unknown. He was buried in Edinburg, Johnson County, Indiana, A. M. Ragsdale, undertaker.
