Wm. Carnine, after an illness of only four days, died at 12 o’clock Tuesday at his home in west Franklin. His death was due to a complication of kidney trouble and fever. Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the residence, conducted by Rev. C. R. Hudson and under the auspices of the K. of P. lodge.

Note: Indiana, Death Certificates, 1899–2011, Health Officer’s Record Number 51, page 38 records that Wm. Carnine died from “uremic poison” (duration four days) and nephritis (duration one week) at 12:00 on 28 Nov 1899 Franklin, Franklin Township, Johnson County, Indiana, aged forty-three years and thirteen days. He was male, white and married. His father’s name was Alexander Carnine and his mother’s maiden name Martha D. Baugham. He was buried in Greenlawn on 30 Nov 1899, undertaker, E. Barnhizer.
