Walter F. (Butch) Calvin, 55, of Route 10, was dead of an apparent coronary on arrival of Medic I emergency ambulance to Bartholomew County Hospital at 2:40 p.m. Saturday. He was a 25 year employee of Cummins Engine Co.
Funeral services will be conducted by Dr. Joe G. Emerson at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Barkes, Inlow and Weaver Funeral Home where persons may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 o’clock this evening and on Tuesday until time of the service. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
The family requests memorials be made to the Heart Fund or the First United Methodist Church.
Calvin was born Feb. 24, 1926, in Franklin to the late Harlen Calvin and Verna E. Calvin Davis. He married Wilma O. Ogilvie on Dec. 29, 1967 and she survives. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church; was an Army veteran of the second world war and a member of the American Legion of Seymour and the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Forty and Eight Club of Columbus.
Survivors beside the wife and mother are two brothers, Charles L. Calvin of Lakeland, Fla., and John R. Calvin of Hartland, Wis.; and a sister, Mrs. Floyd McClure of Seymour.
