William G. Caldwell
William G. Caldwell, 72, died Friday, March 16, 2001, at Columbus Health & Rehabilitation Center. He was a resident of Edinburgh.
He was born Aug. 12, 1928, in Franklin. His parents were Robert J. and Minnie (Giles) Caldwell. He married Juanita (Burton) Caldwell on April 5, 1946. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, William R. Caldwell of Sturgis, Mich., and Tim Caldwell of Elizabethtown; three daughters, Wanda Faye Shepherd and Lila Louise Shepherd, both of Taylorsville, and Relda Ayers of Edinburgh; three brothers, Virgil Caldwell of Campbellsville, Ky., John Caldwell of Jeffersonville and Irvin Caldwell of Clarksville; two sisters, Lola Pike of Edinburgh and Betty Henry of Columbus; 20 grand- children; and 26 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Larry W. Caldwell; three brothers, Marvin, Charles and Elby Ray Caldwell; and three sisters, Lida Smith, Thelma Burton and Effie Mae Caldwell.
He was formerly employed as a cafeteria chef for Atterbury Job Corps in Edinburgh.
Danny Green will conduct a service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
