Lenard Caldwell, 77, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, at Columbus Regional Hospital. He was a resident of Edinburgh.
He was born Aug. 30, 1923, in Columbia, Ky. His parents were Grover and Laura (Blackburn) Caldwell. He married Anna Lee (Burton) Caldwell on Jan. 9, 1954. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Mitchell C. Pittman of Batesburg, S. C.; two brothers, Willie Caldwell of Clifford and Charles E. Caldwell of Taylorsville; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lester Caldwell; and two sisters, Marie Hadley and Cora Tungett.
He was employed for 30 years by the Sanitation Department, City of Columbus, retiring in 1988.
The Rev. Lewis Burton will conduct a service at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.

EDINBURGH — Lenard Caldwell, 77, of Edinburgh died at 7:40 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Mr. Caldwell retired in 1988 after 30 years of service with the city of Columbus Sanitation Department.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home with the Rev. Lewis Burton officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery.
Mr. Caldwell was born in Columbia, Ky., Aug. 30, 1923, the son of Grover and Laura Blackburn Caldwell. He married Anna Lee Burton Jan. 9, 1954. She survives.
