John Byers Dead.
John Byers, one of the best and most highly respected citizens of this county, died at his home in White River township, on Thursday of last week. Mr. Byers was about seventy-seven years of age. He was one of the early settlers of White River township. A few years ago he was stricken with paralysis from the effects of which he never wholly recovered. He was a brother of Henry Byers, Sr. Burial took place at First Mt. Pleasant cemetery.

John Byres [sic], one of the early pioneers of Johnson County, died at his home in White River township on last Thursday afternoon at the age of seventy-seven years. Mr. Byres suffered a severe stroke of paralysis several years ago and has since been in poor health. He settled in White River township in 1822 and had resided there continuously ever since. The funeral took place at First Mt. Pleasant church on Saturday.
