Death of Henry S. Byers.
Henry S. Byers, age 77 years, died Monday morning at 7:30 o’clock at his home west of Franklin. Deceased was a well-known and successful farmer and his death is mourned by a large circle of relatives and friends.
He was born in Henry county, Kentucky, May 16, 1823 and came, when but two years old, with his parents to this county, settling in the First Mt. Pleasant neighborhood. January 9, 1845, he was married to Miss Maria McCauley of Henry County, Kentucky. Deceased was a member of the Baptist church.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock at First Mt. Pleasant, conducted by Rev. W. C. Marris.

Byers died at about 7:30 o’clock a. m. on 15 Oct 1900 at his residence in Franklin Township, Johnson County, Indiana from chiefly cerebral arteriosclerosis of several years duration, aged seventy-seven years, four months and twenty-nine days. He was male, white, married and a farmer, born in Kentucky. His father’s name was Harry S. Byers, born in Pennsylvania and his mother’s maiden name Elizabeth Wiley, birthplace unknown. The informant was A. N. Byers. Henry was buried in 1st Mt Pleasant on 17 Oct 1900, E. G. Barnhizer, undertaker.
