HENRY S. BYERS, JR.

Henry S. Byers, Jr., for years a sufferer from Bright’s disease, died early Monday morning at his home just south of town. He was a native of this county having been born in White River Township in 1814 [sic 1841] and had a large circle of acquaintances and friends. He was a prosperous farmer and stock raiser and in all his transactions displayed good business qualities. The funeral occurred Wednesday morning at the Christian church of which he was a member, conducted by Elder T. M. Wiles assisted by E. H. Wood of the Methodist church. Burial in Greenlawn cemetery.

CHRISTIAN.
The regular Lord’s Day services are quite well attended. Considering that so many people are sick with grippe. Two very prominent members of this congregation have recently been removed by death…. This week the church loses an excellent member by the death of Henry S. Byers, Jr. An honorable and worthy citizen; well known by all. He was buried from the Christian church last Wednesday. The Grand Army had charge and Elder T. M. Wiles, preached an excellent funeral sermon to his memory.
