OBITUARY.
Lucinda S., daughter of John S. Burton, was born November 27th, 1857. Died October the 29, 1890, of consumption.
She was born in Hensley Township, Johnson county Indiana, where she lived until September, 1884, when she moved to Iola, Allen County, Kansas, where she lived until the time of her death. She was a faithful, kind and obedient daughter, a loving sister and a pleasant associate. She united with the Christian church at Iola about five years before her death and lived a faithful member, trustworthy officer of the church and a faithful teacher in the Sunday school.
She manifested a great degree of patience during her sickness, and expressed a willingness and perfect submission to the will of him who doeth all things well.
She leaves a father, six sisters, and three brothers to mourn her loss; all of whom were present at the funeral, being the first of the ten to cross “The dark valley of the shadow of death.”
