FOR LYDIA BURTON
Mrs. Lydia Burton, 76, resident of Columbus Convalescent Center and former Edinburgh resident, died at the Convalescent Center at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. She was a former Roviar Sportswear Company and C. P. Electronics employee. Daniel Anderson of Edinburgh is a brother.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Hugh Owen at Eskew Funeral Home in Edinburgh Friday at 3:00 p.m. Burial was at Rest Haven Cemetery with Everett Whitlock, Francis Critney, Jr., William Moore and Claude White serving as pallbearers.
Mrs. Burton was born at Edinburg June 21, 1904, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Stout Anderson. She was the widow of Elza Burton and was a member of the Edinburgh First Christian Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Moore, Columbus, Barbara Waltermire, Burbank, Calif., and Joyce Bargdoll, Muncie; three sons, William W. Burton, Bloomington, Samuel Burton, Beech Grove, and Everett R. Burton, Tabb, Va.; another brother, Thomas Anderson, Valley Station, Ky.; two sisters, Margaret Critney, Columbus, and Sarah Leper, Seymour; 20 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
