MRS. MARGARET DONNELL‐BURT.
Mrs. Margaret Burt, wife of Prof. W. N. Burt, died at her home, Edgewoodville, near Pittsburg, Pa. on last Monday evening, the 23rd, of consumption superinduced by the grippe and pneumonia. Brief funeral services were held at the home, on Tuesday. The remains were brought to this city, arriving here on Wednesday afternoon. Rev. L. P. Marshall conducted very appropriate funeral exercises yesterday afternoon, at the residence of Dr. T. C. Donnell. The face, once familiar in Franklin, was viewed in the forenoon from 9 to 11 o’clock by the many friends and relatives. The remains were interred in the family lot in Greenlawn. Among those in attendance at the funeral were Rev. C. Burt and wife, Whiteland; Mr. and Mrs. Leavitt, Vernon; Judge J. D. Miller and Jesse G. Donnell, Greensburg; Mr. and Mrs. Swanson, Mr. and Mrs. Frayzer, Miss Anna Frayzer, Noble McKee and C. B. Howland, of Indianapolis.
Mrs. Burt was the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. J. H. Donnell, both deceased. She was born April 10, 1848, and was familiarly known in Franklin as Maggie Donnell, until in 1878 when she was married on April 2 to Prof. W. N. Burt, who was afterward principal in the State Deaf and Dumb Institute and who is now superintendent of the Western Pennsylvania Deaf and Dumb Institute. She leaves three children, Lizzie, James and Willie. Mrs. Burt was a Christian woman, possessing many fine qualities and was held in high esteem by all who knew her.
