FOR ROSS BUCK
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Chilton Bowles at the Vandivier-Parsley Funeral Home south chapel Sunday afternoon for Ross J. Buck of Edinburg who died Thursday afternoon at the Methodist hospital in Indianapolis after a two years illness.
During the service, special music was sung by Oscar Mutz of Columbus accompanied by Mrs. B. G. Breeding, organist.
Burial was at Rest Haven Cemetery with Lowell Barrett, Don Nay, James Breeding, Bruce Buck, James Rowland, and John Pruitt serving as pallbearers.
Mr. Buck came to Edinburg in 1941 as an engineer for the Charles Hurd and Son Engineering Company when Camp Atterbury was surveyed. A 1907 graduate of Purdue University, he was Columbus city engineer from 1956 to 1957. He had worked for several years in Michigan and was with the Federal Public Works administration from 1934 to 1939. He also supervised the construction of the Music Hall at Purdue.
Born Oct. 2, 1887, in Michigan, he was the son of Willis and Ellen Brown Buck. He married Marie Breeding in 1961 and she survives.
Mr. Buck was a member of the Edinburg Presbyterian Church, the Masonic Lodge, and Knights Templar.
Surviving with his wife are one son, Ross W. Buck of Atlanta, Ga., two daughters, Kathryn Prucher and Marjorie Rowland, both of California; one step-son, George Breeding of Acton; two step-daughters, Dorothy Allen of Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela, and Frances Etzel of Cincinnati, Ohio.
