NATHAN BRYANT
Nathan Bryant, 87, of Edinburgh, died Monday night at the Bartholomew County Hospital. He had lived in Edinburgh many years but the past five months lived at the Columbus Convalescent Center.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday morning at Eskew Funeral Home with the Rev. Glen Poynter in charge. Burial will be at Marion Cemetery near Clay City. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. today.
Bryant, retired farmer and carpenter, was born Mar. 27, 1892, in Adair County, Ky., the son of Jesse and Amanda Bryant.
He was married in 1914 to Susie Streeval who died May 10, 1975.
Surviving are eight children, Samuel Bryant, Solsberry; Johnny Bryant, Columbus; Imogene Campfield, Columbus, R.R.; Martha Jordan, Louisville, Ky.; Mary Sitz, Indianapolis; Elsie Jordan, Indianapolis; Betty Carnes, and Ruth Bryant, both of Edinburgh; a brother, Collie Bryant of Brazil; two sisters, Martha Monroe, Solsberry, and Rhoda Bollinger; 59 grand-children, 80 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
The deceased was a member of the Lowell General Baptist Church.
Three sons and a brother, Bill Bryant, preceded in death.
