The funeral of Uncle Ham Brown was largely attended. The church has lost a faithful member.
Note: Indiana, Death Certificates, 1899–2011, page 28, records that John H. Brown died from senile gangrene* of ten months’ duration (immediate cause of death heart paralysis) at 6:00 a.m. on 21 Nov 1899 in Needham Township, Johnson County, Indiana, aged sixty-eight years and four months. He was male and white, born to William Brown and an unknown wife in North Carolina. He was buried in Johnson County on 25 Nov 1899, undertaker E. Barnhizer.
