Mrs. Albert Browning died last Friday night at her home in White River township, after an illness of but two days. Mrs. Browning and her husband had just returned to White River township, their old home, after a brief residence in Indianapolis, and the news of her sudden illness and death came as a surprise to her large circle of friends and acquaintances. She leaves a husband and three sons. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Mt. Pleasant, conducted by Rev. M. R. Myers of the U. B. church.

Indiana, Death Certificates, 1899–2011, Certificate and Record of Death, White River Township, Johnson County, page 29 records that Nancy Catherine Stewart Browning died at about 7 o’clock p.m. on 23 Mar 1900 in White River Township from asphyxia, cardiac asthma of forty-eight hours' duration caused by fatty degeneration of the heart, aged fifty-five years, one month and eight days. She was female, white, married and a housewife, born in Johnson County. Her father’s name was James Stewart and her mother’s maiden name Catherine Surface, both born in Virginia. The informant was Benjamin F. Surface. She was buried in Mount Pleasant on 25 Mar 1900, Dudley Peak, undertaker.
