Fred E. Brown
Fred E. Brown, 82, Franklin, who has friends in Shelby County, died Saturday at Johnson Memorial Hospital, Franklin. Born May 15, 1918, in Johnsonville, Ill., he was the son of Henry J. and Bess (Bullard) Brown.
He married Ruth S. (Snepp) Brown on March 4, 1949, and she survives.
Mr. Brown was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He graduated from Franklin High School in 1936, and was owner and president of F. R. B. Farms Inc., Franklin. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Franklin, and National Corn Growers Association. He was also a former advisor for the FFA chapter at Franklin Community High School and former representative for Pioneer Hybrid Seeds.
Other survivors include one daughter, Carolyn B. Roebuck, Franklin; two sons, David H. Brown and Mark E. Brown, both of Franklin; seven grand-children; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Vandivier-Parsley Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. John A. Cheesman officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Franklin. Friends may visit from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Southwestern FFA, 3406 W. 600S, Shelbyville, IN, 46176.
