HENRY BREEDING
Henry Breeding, 96, a life-long resident of German township, died at 9:15 p.m. Sunday, February 7, at the Bartholomew County Hospital.
A well-known farmer, he had lived at his Edinburgh route 2 residence since 1916, in the house formerly owned by his grandfather, Elza Breeding. The residence won Breeding a historical award in 1977, after it had been restored.
Masonic services were conducted at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday with Joe Brown, Acting Master, and Art Mitchell as Chaplain; and other officers and members of Edinburgh 100 in attendance.
Mr. Breeding was the oldest member of the Edinburgh Masonic Lodge and would have received his 75-yr. Jubilee Pin this year.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Hugh Owen at 1 p.m. today at the Edinburgh Christian Church of which Breeding was a member. Burial was at Rest Haven Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were in charge of Eskew Funeral Home.
Mr. Breeding was born Oct. 31, 1885, son of Isaac and Lula B. Moore Breeding. He married Blanche Perry on Oct. 25, 1916 and she died Aug. 11, 1977.
He attended Taylorsville grade school and Edinburgh High School. He was a member of the Edinburgh Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Bartholomew County Shrine Club, High Twelve Club and Bartholomew County Christian Missionary Assn.
He is survived by nieces, a nephew and several cousins.
