Mrs. Sarah Brent [sic] died at her home one mile north of Bengal at 7:30 o’clock Saturday morning of dropsy of the heart, aged 55 years. The funeral took place from the 2nd Mt. Pleasant church on Monday.

The 1870 US Federal Census for Hendricks, Shelby County, Indiana records thirty-six-year-old, Ohio-born Adam Brand [sic], his thirty-six-year-old, Ohio-born wife Sarah Brand [sic] and their Indiana-born children, fourteen-year-old Francis, thirteen-year-old Elizabeth, twelve-year-old James, eleven-year-old John T., nine-year-old Charles, six-year-old Rosetta and nine-month old Hannah.
Indiana Marriages, 1811‐2007, database with images, records that when Charles F. Brant married Lettie F. Collins on 20 Jan 1889, he stated that his parents were Adam Brant and Sarah A. Tucker.
