MARGARET BRANIGIN
Former Franklin resident Sarah Margaret Branigin, 76, Indianapolis died Tuesday afternoon at Johnson County Memorial Hospital, Franklin after a brief illness. Mrs. Branigin was born July 27, 1908, in the Hopewell community to Zack and Hattie (Evans) Cosby. She attended Franklin High School, Indi- ana business College and Indiana University extension in Indianapolis. She had lived in Franklin all of her life until moving to Indianapolis in May.
She was married to Gerald F. Branigin, a Franklin attorney who was the brother of former Indiana Gov. Roger Branigin.
Her husband preceded her in death in 1961. She retired June 1972 from Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indianapolis. She had worked in federal govern- ment service for 25 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Franklin.
A service will be at 10:30 a.m. Fri- day at Vandivier-Parsley Funeral Home with the Revs. Alan Trent and Walter Marchand officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and until time of the service Friday. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Franklin.
She is survived by a brother, Charles H. Cosby, Indianapolis, a sis- ter, Midge Edwards, Indianapolis and a niece.
