Nelson Boyd Sr.

Cordry-Sweetwater resident Nel­son A. Boyd Sr. died Monday, July 27, 1994 at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin.

He was 83.

Mr. Boyd was born June 30, 1911 in Arthur, Illinois, to E.W. and Julia E. Moore Boyd.

He married Barbara E. Bloomquist. She died July 11, 1992.

Mr. Boyd was general manager of General Adjustment Bureau in Indianapolis for 42 years, retiring in 1975.

Survivors include a son; Nelson A. Boyd Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia; a daughter, Nancy D. Lovato of San Diego, California; a brother, Richard W. Boyd of Lovington, Illinois; two sisters, Anita Phalp of Fort Worth, Texas and Ida Casey of Brandywine, Maryland; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

There was no funeral service.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Forest Lawn Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Home in Greenwood was in charge of arrangements.
