Dies Suddenly
Heart Attack Fatal to DePrez
Hardware Co. Treasurer
Wade E. Bowman, age forty-two, treasurer of the J. G. DePrez Hardware Company and Shelbyville native, died suddenly at 10:30 o’clock this morning at the home of his half-brother, Robert Brant, 111 west Jackson St.
Mr. Bowman had not been in poor health but became ill while at work this morning and had gone to the Brant home to rest. Death was caused by a heart attack.
He was born in Shelbyville on December 26, 1903, the son of Ernest and Anna Sosbe Bowman. He attended the local schools and had been employed at the DePrez store here since a youth. He was a past exalted ruler of the local Elks lodge and a member of the Lions Club.
Surviving with the half-brother, Robert Brant, is a half-sister, Miss Jacqueline Brant, with whom he made his home on north State Road 9. Also surviving is his grandmother, Mrs. Elnora Sosbe, of this city.
Funeral services will be held at the Ewing mortuary Friday at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Walter R. Hand, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be made in Forest Hill cemetery. Friends may call at the Brant home after 7:00 o’clock this evening until Friday noon and after that at the mortuary.
