Miss Mary Bowman dies
Monday at the hospital
EDINBURG—Miss Mary Bowman, 80, of 302 S. Holland St., Edinburg, died Monday evening in the Johnson County Hospital, following an illness of 18 months.
Miss Bowman had worked at the Pixy Theatre in Edinburg. She was a member of the Daughters of [the] American Revolution, Order of the Eastern Star No. 478, Edinburg Homemakers Club, the Edinburg Business Women’s Club, the Edinburg Christian Church and its Loyal Workers class.
The funeral service will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. from the Mutz Funeral Home with burial in Resthaven Cemetery. Rev. Frank Rustemeyer will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home any time.
Miss Bowman was born July 26, 1888, at Edinburg, the daughter of William and Ida Drybread Bowman. The family moved to Madison shortly after her birth, and in 1913 moved to Canada. Miss Bowman returned to Edinburgh in 1945 and has resided there since that time.
A brother and sister preceded her in death. She is survived by several cousins.
