FRANKLIN Gertrude Blanton Gertrude Blanton, 83, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, at Johnson Memorial Hospital. She was a resident of Franklin and a former resident of Edinburgh. She was born Sept. 14, 1919, in Somerset, Ky. Her parents were Carless and Sussie (Parton) Beasley. She married Clyde E. Blanton on Feb. 28, 1938. He preceded her in death Feb. 22, 1994. Survivors include two sons, Paul Blanton of Martinez, Calif., and Robert Blanton of Columbus; three daughters, Joyce Riche and Brenda Blanton, both of Deltona, Fla., and Mildred Cheshire of Franklin; three brothers, Algeer Beasley of Franklin, Carley Beasley of Cincinnati and Vester Beasley of Kentucky; three sisters, Flossie Decker of Franklin, Flonnie Widdle of Cincinnati and Heidie Duncan of Bowling Green, Ky.; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. She was a member of Edinburgh Assembly of God. She was employed by Bartholomew County Hospital and Columbus Convalescent Center as a practical nurse. The Revs. George Eagler and Eddie Richardson will conduct a service at 1 p.m. Saturday at Edinburgh Assembly of God Church. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh and from noon until service time Saturday at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Gertrude Blanton Franklin EDINBURGH -- Gertrude Blanton, 83, of Franklin, formerly of Edinburgh, died at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. Mrs. Blanton was a member of Edinburgh Assembly of God and had been a practical nurse at Bartholomew County Hospital and Columbus Convalescent Center. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Edinburgh Assembly of God with the Revs. George Eagler and Eddie Richardson officiating. Service Gertrude Blanton The funeral for Gertrude Blanton, 83, of Franklin, formerly of Edinburgh, was Saturday at Edinburgh Church of the Nazarene with the Revs. George Eagler and Eddie Richardson officiating. Special music was by Eddie and Lisa Richardson. Burial was at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Pallbearers were Paul, Robert and Chris Blanton, Danny Cheshire, Michael Riddle and Daniel Holt.
