NANCY BESS.
Mrs. Nancy Bess died Sunday at the Central Hospital, Indianapolis, after a lingering illness. The remains were brought to Franklin Monday day evening and taken to the home of her son-in-law, George Bess, on Yandes street. Funeral services were held from the residence Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock, conducted by Rev. C. R. Hudson, after which the remains were taken to First Mt. Pleasant for burial.
Deceased maiden name was Featherngill. She was born in Clark county, Kentucky, in 1824, and came with her parents to Johnson county in 1830, settling on a farm four miles south of Trafalgar. She was married in 1839 to Armstrong Bess. The husband died in 1888. To this union eight children were born, only two of whom are now living, viz; Mrs. George Bess and James H. Bess, of this city.
