OBITUARY.
Israel Bell, a well-known man, died Tuesday, April 11, 1899, at 9 p.m., aged 33 years and 9 months. He was born in Johnson county near Nineveh July 11, 1865, and was married to Santha Voris, June 11, 1885, and to this union was born two sons and two daughters—Lora, age 13; Lulie 12; Marie 9 and Raymond 6. Mr. Bell had for the past five years lived in the Hurricane neighborhood until he was compelled to give up work, then he moved to Franklin two months previous to his death. He had been in poor health for the past three years, being first taken with the grip, which settled in his throat. For the last six months his health failed fast, but he never gave up work until three months ago. He was confined to his bed just two weeks with that dread disease, consumption. He never complained or would say that he was any worse. He was a most industrious man and that was his great trouble. He was a true husband and a good father. He was a member of the Christian church.
The funeral took place Thursday at 2 o’clock from the residence conducted by Rev. Cunningham of the Christian church, assisted by Rev. Cocks of the M. E. church. Burial at Mt. Carmel.
