The funeral of Grandma Bass took place last Thursday afternoon in the Baptist church and was well attended, Prof. Hall officiating. Another good grandmother gone to eternal happiness, a true type of energy, Christianity and motherhood.

Kentucky Marriages, 1785–1979, database, records that Josiah Bass married Elizabeth Robinson on 16 Mar 1829 in Boone County (Reference 109-11, FHL microfilm 551023).
The 1840 US Federal Census for Johnson County, Indiana records Josiah Bass. In his household are two males under five, one male five through nine, one male 30 through thirty-nine (himself), one female under five, one female five through nine, and one female thirty through thirty-nine (his wife Elizabeth (Robinson) Bass.
Josiah H. Bass died in 1845 and was buried in Greenwood Cemetery.
The 1850 US Federal Census for Pleasant, Johnson County, Indiana records forty-two-year-old, Kentucky-born Elizabeth Bass and her children, eighteen-year-old, Kentucky-born Sarah, seventeen-year-old, Indiana-born Thomas, fifteen-year-old Indiana-born Nathan, thirteen-year-old Indiana-born Lucretia, twelve-year-old Indiana-born William, eight-year-old Indiana-born George and six-year-old Indiana-born Josiah Bass. Thomas, Nathan and William are the male children and Sarah and Lucretia the female children recorded on the 1840 Census.
