Edward Barnhill, of Flatrock, was found dead Saturday on the banks of the river near his home. His death was caused by a gunshot accidentally inflicted. It is said he went to the river Saturday morning with a rifle to shoot fish. Climbing into a sycamore tree near the Ensley ford whose limbs projected over the river, the gun was accidentally discharged, the ball penetrating the left arm and body, causing instant death. The body was found on the sand bar with the lower limbs in the water.
