Mrs. Cora Barker, wife of Will­iam D. Barker, who lives north of Franklin on the Graham Road, died at the Johnson County Memorial Hospital shortly after noon Tuesday. The body has been taken to the Vandivier Funeral Home and arrangements will be announced Wednesday.

Rites Announced
For Mrs. Barker

Dies Tuesday at
Memorial Hospital

After an illness of six weeks, Mrs. William D. Barker died at 1:15 o’clock Tuesday afternoon in the Johnson County Memorial Hospital. She had been a patient there since November 3.

Funeral services have been arranged for 2 o’clock Friday afternoon and will be in the Community Congregational Church. The Rev. John Hancock, pastor, will be in charge of the services and burial is to take place in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Vandivier Funeral Home after 7 o’clock Wed­nesday night and until noon Friday, when the body will be taken to the church. They are invited to attend the rites.

Mrs. Barker, the former Cora Coffman, was born in Bartholomew County on April 30, 1881, and her parents were the late John and Sara Goetz Coffman. She attended the schools in Nineveh Township.

Resided in County

On March 26, 1902, she became the bride of Mr. Barker and three children were born to them. Mrs. Barker had lived in and around Johnson County all her life and has lived on the Graham Road north of Franklin for the past 20 years. She moved to Nineveh when a small child.

Mrs. Barker was a member of the Community Congregational Church.

The husband survives with two daughters, Mrs. Clyde McClain, of Greenwood, and Mrs. Arthur Brenton, of Indianapolis; a son, Leonard Barker, of Anderson; eight grand­children and 15 great-grand­children.

Others remaining are six sisters, Mrs. Lewis Chandler, of Muncie; Mrs. Walter Parsley, Mrs. Claude Short, Mrs. Orval McQuinn, of Franklin; Mrs. Roy Barker, of Lebanon; Mrs. Myrtle Cobb, of Nineveh; and two brothers, George Coffman, of Franklin, and Charles Coffman, of Trafalgar.

RITES CONDUCTED
FOR CORA BARKER

Last rites for Mrs. Cora Barker, wife of William D. Barker, were conducted in the Community Con­gregational church at 2 o’clock Fri­day afternoon.

The services were in charge of the Rev. John Hancock, pastor of the church of which Mrs. Barker had been a member. She was buried in the Greenwood ceme­tery.

Those who carried the casket were Maurice Coffman, Joe Hicks, Ernest Short, Donald Mead, Robert Redmond and Donn Barker.

Died Tuesday

Mrs. Barker had been ill for six week[sic] and on November 3 was admitted to the Johnson County Memorial Hospital where she died at 1:15 o’clock Tuesday afternoon.

She was born in Bartholomew county, but her family moved to Nineveh when she was a small child. For the past 20 years Mr. and Mrs. Barker had resided on a farm north of Franklin on the Gra­ham road.

The survivors are the husband, two daughters, a son, eight grand­children, 15 great-grand­children, six sisters and two brothers.
