EDINBURG, March 1.—Relatives of William A. Anderson, age 82, who was found dead at the rear of his home in Edinburg Monday morning, have announced that funeral services for the deceased man will be held from the Gosney undertaking parlors, Wed­nesday afternoon at two o’clock with the Rev. James Baldwin of Columbus in charge. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery at Edinburg.

Mr. Anderson had been a resident of Edinburg for many years and had retired from his active occupation of farming. His death occurred at eleven o’clock Monday morning, while apparently in his usual health he was splitting wood at the rear of his home in Cuba at the south edge of Edinburg. A heart attack came upon him and he passed away before medical aid could be summoned.

Coroner C. M. Jackson of Eliza­bethtown, who investigated the case pronounced death due to heart trouble, discrediting earlier reports of suicide. William Albert Anderson was born in Hamblen Township, Brown County, January 12, 1850, the son of William and Mary Chandler Anderson, who were pioneer residents of that county. He was married to Miss Elizabeth Jane Smith on January 12, 1876, and soon after their marriage the couple became residents of Edinburg where they have spent their lives.

Surviving Relatives

Surviving relatives are: the widow, three sons, Richard and Charles of Indianapolis, Albert of Seattle, Wash­ington, three daughters, Mrs. A. P. Hamblen of Franklin, Mrs. William Smith of Edinburg, and Mrs. Clarence Lorenz of Danville, Illinois. There are 19 grandchildren, seven great-grand­children and many other relatives as well as a host of friends who will mourn the passing of this man.

Mr. Anderson had been a member of the Christian Church of New Bethel since in early manhood and had remained faithful to its teachings throughout his life.

WILLIAM A. “BERT” ANDERSON

William A. (Bert) Anderson, age 82 years, died suddenly of a heart attack at his home in Edinburg, Monday of last week [February 29th].

Mr. Anderson was born in Hamblen Township and resided there in the Clay Lick Community for many years.

His wife was Elizabeth Smith, daughter of James D. and Eliza (Summa) Smith, who survives him.

Also surviving are three sons, Richard E., Charles W., and Albert R. of Indianapolis; three daughters, Mrs. A. P. Hamblen of Franklin, Mrs. William Smith of Edinburg and Mrs. Clarence Lorentz of Danville, Illinois.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. James Baldwin of Columbus. Burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery, Edinburg.
