Gladys LeVelle Anderson

Gladys LeVelle Anderson, 72, died Saturday, May 21, 2005, at her residence in Greenwood.

She was born April 15, 1933, in Bloomfield, Iowa. Her parents were Emery Earl and Dora (Loney) Melton. She married Ernest Anderson on Aug. 27, 1966. He survives. Other survivors include three sons, Kerry Roark of New Whiteland, Kevin Roark of Somerset, Ky., and James Anderson of Franklin; a daughter, Mary Anderson of Green­wood; a brother, James Melton; two sisters, Lola Hayworth and Leora Simmons; 13 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She worked for several years in government offices. She later retired from Specialty Connector as a secretary.

A service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Greenwood Chapel. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Greenwood.
