FRANKLIN — Donald Wayne Anderson, 76, brother of Marjorie Essex of Columbus, died today at Franklin Nursing Home, where he had been a resident for 16 months.
Anderson was a retired farmer. He attended Nineveh High School and was a member of Nineveh Christian Church, Nineveh Masonic Lodge 317 and Order of Eastern Star 466.
Funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. Larry Scott at 2 p.m. Thursday at Vandivier-Tudor Funeral Home in Franklin, where calling hours will be after 4 p.m. Wednesday. A Masonic memorial service wil be conducted by members of Nineveh Lodge at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Nineveh Cemetery.
Born Sept. 16, 1911, in Brown County, Anderson was the son of Gertrude Swift Anderson of Franklin and the late Sylvan Anderson. He married Hazel Petro on April 17, 1934 and she survives.
Other survivors include a son, Robert Dale Anderson of Bargersville; a daughter, Donna Fay Walker of Sweetwater Lake; two brothers, Clyde and Eugene Anderson of Franklin; two other sisters, Mildred McFarland of Franklin and Margaret Schrougham of Greenwood; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Wayne Anderson.
