Agnes E. (Gordon) Allen, 82, died Sunday, March 21, 2004, at her residence in Indianapolis. She was a former resident of West Palm Beach, Fla.
She was born Feb. 16, 1922, in Glens Falls, N.Y. Her parents were George and Mildred (Knox) Gordon. She married George Dwight Allen on March 13, 1957, in West Palm Beach, Fla. He preceded her in death July 2, 1972. Survivors include a daughter, Pam Lock of Greenwood; a sister, Mildred Harvey of Crawfordsville; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Gordon; and a sister, Bernice Hayes.
She was employed by Palm Beach County Courthouse as a recorder’s office clerk for 10 years, retiring in 1989.
She was a former member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in West Palm Beach, Fla., American Legion Post 12 Auxiliary in West Palm Beach, Fla., and American Business Women’s Association.
A service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 7602 S. Madison Ave. in Indianapolis. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the mortuary. Inurnment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in West Palm Beach, Fla.
