Ethel Marie (Day) Adams
Ethel Marie (Day) Adams, 90, died Tuesday, March 9, 2004, at Homeview Center in Franklin. She was a resident of Franklin, a former resident of Greenwood and a life-long resident of Johnson County.
She was born Feb. 8, 1914, in Smith Valley. Her parents were Ernest “Slick” and Nannie Elizabeth (Doty) Day. She married Earl Adams on Nov. 25, 1939. He preceded her in death April 8, 1967.
Survivors include a nephew, Randy Brent Pierce of Banta. She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Ernest Jasper Day; and a sister, Claris Lucille Pierce, on June 10, 2003.
She was a 1932 graduate of Center Grove High School.
She was employed by Stokely-Van Camp in Greenwood for 38 years and was also employed by Zayres department store in Greenwood for several years.
She was a member of Smith Valley United Methodist Church since 1931.
The Rev. Cleve Cross will conduct a service at 10 a.m. Thursday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, 481 W. Main St. in Greenwood. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
