WILLIAM J. CLEMENTS, farmer, Sparta Township, was born near Baltimore, Md., January 14, 1828. His parents were Charles and Rachel Clements, natives of England and Maryland.
He was married in Sparta Township, March 9, 1859, to Emeline, daughter of Abraham and Elizabeth Carbaugh, who was born in this county January 29, 1836 on March, 1861.
Mr. Clements moved on his farm, which he had purchased in 1860, and where he has since resided. He owns eighty eight acres of land, well improved.
They have had born to them six children, viz.: Elizabeth L., Charles H., Zadie D., Emma F., Minnie J., Maggie A.
