WILLIAM ROBINS*

William Robins of Gloucester Co., enlisted in the year 1777 under Capt. Philip Taliaferro. He was in the 2nd Virginia State Reg., remained in Va. One year and then marched to the North under Capt. Boswell and Col. Brent and remained in the North two years. "Served faithfully a term of three years" as a soldier in the infantry. Heirs of William Robins: James Robins, Francis Robins and William Robins; (Bounty Warrant) Archives Division Virginia State Library.

NOTE: This was not William Robins (1749 ) of Robins Neck, who was also a Rev. soldier.
