Dedicated to the work of Judge Elihu Jasper Sutherland (1885-1964), the most prolific and prominent genealogist Southwest Virginia has ever known and one of Dickenson County's own. Please click here to view and purchase Mr. Sutherland's books. His extensive book "Meet Virginia's Baby" published in 1955 is still the foremost work on Dickenson County history and its people. Without his dedication to preserving family history, many Southwest Virginians would not know their ancestors.
