I Ambrose Lee of the County of Amherst, being sick and weak but of perfect sence and memory Do make and OrdainThis my last will and Testament in manner and form Following, all that track of Land Lying in Amherst County, on the North side of Buffalo River containing Eleven hundred and seventy Acres [three marks not understood/jgs] foure hundred Acres of which belongs to George Penn on that part whereon he has seated a plantation. The remaining Seven Hundred and Seventy Acres Joining of another track on the said side of Buffaloe River containing two hundred acres The two trackts containing nine hundred and Seventy acres, to be divided by William Cabell Jun. & George Penn, in manner following: three hundred & seventy Acres to be laid off in a Lott joining to George Penn line; and the new line which joins the Gleab line, and two hundred Acres at the place whereon is a new cleared peace of Ground without any building, and two hundred acres at the place Known by the Name of the Poplar Thickett, and the remaining two hundred whereon is a plantation with a Dweling house a Building. It is my will and desire as Soon as the said Land can conveniently be divided by the sd William Cabell Junr and George Penn, that they return to the County Cort, a plot of the said lots, in order to be recorded, to Prevent a Futer? Division of the said Land. I give to my Loving Wife one Negrow woman names Phillace, and one Negrowe Girle named Delpha, one Choice Rideing horse and side Sadle and two hundred acres Land whereon I have a plantation and an Intended Dweling house building, only that She is to possess the Land no longer than Enduring her widow hood, and in Case of her marrying again, or Death, then the said Land falls to my Son Frank, I give to my son George two hundred acres of Land on the place whereon is a new cleard peace of Ground without other Improvements, Being part of the above mentioned track of nine hundred and seventy Acres of Land, and one Choice Negrow, I give to my son Richard two hundred Acres of Land part of the above mentioned trackt of Nine hundred and Seventy Acres of Land known by the Name of the Poplar thicket and one choice Negrow, I give to my son Frank two hundred acres of Land, part of the above mentioned trackt of Nine hundred and Seventy Acres, which is the Plantation whereon I have an Intended Dweling house a Building, only my Beloved Wife to enjoy the said Land endureing her Widowhood, and then or at her deceace, my Son Frank is to possess it. I likewise give to my Son Frank one Choice Negrow, I give to each of My foure Daughters Elizabeth, Jeane, Suckey & Nancy one choice Negrow. It is my will and desire that the three hundred and seventy acres of Land in Amherst County To be Laid of out of the above mentioned trackt of Nine hundred and seventy Acres and joining on George Penn's line and the new line which Joins to the Gleab line, and all that track of Land in the said County of Amherst, Lying on the South Side of Buffaloe River Containing two hundred & twenty three Acres with as Much of my Personal estate as will pay all my just Debts, Be sold and all that remains of my whole and Sole Estate I give to be Equally Divided between my Loving Wife and children and it is my Will and desire that my Sons shall be of free age, and receive their estates at the age of twenty one years, and that my Daughters shall Receive their estates at the age of twenty years or when they Marry, and that my Whole and Sole as Estate (after selling as much as will pay all my just Debts, be kept together and be not sold, but that my Deare beloved Wife shall have the whole Benefitt of it to apply to the Mentainance, Educateing & bring up my Children in the feare of God, Untill they come of Age above mentioned then to possess their Equal shares of the Estate, but in case my Wife should Marry or at her decease, I commit the care of Educating Mentaining bringing up my Dear Children to my Executers, and lastly I do appoint My beloved Wife, George Penn, William Lee & Gabl Penn for my Executers in Witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this twenty third Day of October Anno Dommini one Thousand Seven hundred and sixty four

At a Court held for Amherst County at the Court House the fifth Day of November 1764 This last will and testament of Ambrose Lee Gent Decd was presented in Court by George Penn one of the Executors therein named (Gabriel Penn & William Lee two of the Executors wer released and allowed as witnesses, to prove the said will.) and the will be proved by the said Gabriel Penn and William Lee the said George Penn with Daniel Burford, Gabriel Penn & William Lee his securtys Acknowledged a bond in the Penalty of Two Thousand pounds, & took the oath derrected? by Law of the said Executors prayed a probat of the same, which is granted them and on the motion of the said Executor Ordered to be recorded.
