George Washington ALFORD

Died, in Davidson county, Tennessee, on the 18th of Aug. 1834, Mr. George Washington ALFORD, son of Mr. John ALFORD, aged 40 years. Mr. ALFORD was born in Amherst county, Virginia. He was a man of virtuous life, strict morality and endeared himself not only to those who slept in his bosom, a beloved wife and six children, but to all who knew him. But yet he was without the one thing needful. At the first camp meeting at Smyrna, the last of July, he was a seeker of religion and went away from that meeting with his mind deeply interested for the salvation of the gospel.
